Dr. Chester recently joined the faculty at Morgan State University as an Assistant Dean in the College of Liberal Arts. Prior to this appointment Dr. Chester has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Chester's research investigates the development of family processes and parent socialization practices during early developmental periods in an effort to understand the factors which affect child development. She uses adoption as a context in order to further understand the associations among family relationships and individual well-being. Her more recent work has investigated how disenfranchised youth access resources and the implications these processes have on development.
